Konig makes affordable flow formed wheels for enthusiasts. Models like the Hypergram and Ampliform give you a lighter wheel for less money. It’s an American brand that has made wheels since 1982 and suits Japanese and European hatchbacks and sports cars. We supply and fit Konig at our Southport workshop.
Konig started in the US in 1982, serving the import and sport-compact scene. Since 2005 it’s been owned by YHI International, a Singapore-based wheel company. Despite the German-sounding name, Konig isn’t German or Japanese.
Konig has made flow formed wheels since 2010, and they’re now the core of the range. The wheel is cast, then the barrel is spun under pressure to make it lighter and stronger. Konig also has a cast range and a separate Konig Forged line.
Konig customers want a lighter wheel without a big bill, and a fit that’s done properly. Here’s what Gold Coast drivers say about our Southport workshop.
The Hypergram, Ampliform, Dekagram, Countergram, Rennform and Oversteer are the models most often stocked in Australia. Other designs are usually special order. They suit cars like the Civic, WRX, MX-5, GR86, BRZ and European hatchbacks.
Konig is the value choice among the performance brands we fit. It costs less than Enkei, Advan or BBS, and the flow formed construction keeps weight down. We’ll check offset, brake clearance and centre bore before you order.
