The Gold Coast is hard on tyres. Hot bitumen, sudden summer downpours, and everything from school run hatchbacks to tradie utes on the highway every day. At Action Tyres & More in Southport, we’ll make sure you drive away with the right set — not just the most expensive one.
Whether you’re commuting from Coomera to Coolangatta, running the kids to school in Robina, or loading up the 4WD for a Hinterland run, the right tyre makes a genuine difference to how your car handles, stops, and performs. Worn tyres increase braking distance, hurt fuel efficiency, and make wet weather driving genuinely dangerous. Queensland’s summer storms don’t give much warning — when it tips down on the M1, you want rubber underneath you that’s up to the job.
Gold Coast drivers trust Action Tyres & More to keep their new vehicles running on the right rubber. From factory replacements to first upgrades, our team makes sure every fitment is spot on.
From compact hatchbacks to large family SUVs, we carry new car tyres across every major brand and price point. Whether you drive daily on the M1 or run the school run through Robina, we’ll match the right tyre to your vehicle, your driving habits, and your budget — no guesswork, no upselling.

The legal minimum tread depth in Australia is 1.5mm, but most tyre specialists — us included — recommend replacing at 3mm, particularly in wet conditions. If you can see the wear indicators built into the tyre grooves, you’re already at the limit. Beyond tread, look out for cracking on the sidewall, persistent vibration, or a tyre that keeps losing pressure — these are all signs it’s time to replace, regardless of the kilometres on them.
Most tyres last between 40,000 and 60,000 kilometres under normal conditions — but it’s not purely a distance question. Heat accelerates rubber degradation, and the Gold Coast is no stranger to heat. Tyres can also age out before they wear out, particularly if a vehicle sits unused for extended periods. Have them inspected every 5 years and replaced by 10, regardless of how they look.
It’s strongly recommended. Fitting new tyres to a car that’s out of alignment means they’ll wear unevenly and won’t perform the way they should. An alignment also affects handling and can improve fuel economy. If your old tyres showed wear on one edge more than the other, an alignment isn’t optional — it’s necessary.
We carry a wide range — from well-known premium labels through to reliable mid-range options that offer excellent value. When you come in, we’ll tell you exactly what we have in your size and give you an honest comparison. We’re not locked into pushing one brand — we’re more interested in getting you the right tyre for how you actually drive.
In most cases, yes. We carry a strong range of common sizes in stock and most standard fitments can be done while you wait. If you’re after a less common size or specific brand, give us a call ahead of time and we’ll confirm availability. Most customers are back on the road within the hour.
Ideally yes — especially on all-wheel-drive vehicles where mismatched tread depths can cause drivetrain stress. On front or rear-wheel-drive cars there’s more flexibility, but replacing in pairs is the better approach for consistent handling. Our team will assess what you’ve got and give you an honest recommendation — if two tyres still have life in them, we’ll tell you.
Ready to get sorted? Drop into our Southport workshop or give us a call — we’ll have you back on the road the same day. No appointment necessary for most fitments.
