Precision Alignment That Protects Your Tyres and Improves How Your Car Drives
If your car pulls to one side, your steering wheel sits off-centre at speed, or your tyres are wearing unevenly — alignment is almost certainly the cause. At Action Tyres & More in Southport, we carry out precision wheel alignments for all vehicle types using proper alignment equipment. It’s one of the most cost-effective services we offer — and one of the most commonly overlooked until it’s already cost drivers a premature set of tyres.
Wheel alignment is the adjustment of your vehicle’s suspension angles — specifically how the tyres sit relative to each other and the road surface. The three primary angles are camber (the tilt of the tyre inward or outward), toe (whether the tyres point inward or outward when viewed from above), and caster (the angle of the steering axis). When these angles drift from the manufacturer’s specified values, the effects compound over time.
Misalignment forces tyres to scrub against the road at an incorrect angle with every rotation — wearing rubber from one edge far faster than the tyre should wear overall. A car that’s out of alignment by what seems like a minor amount can halve the life of a set of tyres. It also increases rolling resistance which hurts fuel economy, affects steering precision, and in more pronounced cases makes the vehicle genuinely harder to control.
Precise alignment requires proper equipment and the knowledge to use it correctly. Our team sets alignment to manufacturer specifications — not an approximation.
Standard passenger cars, SUVs, 4WDs with lift kits, and performance vehicles with modified geometry — we carry out wheel alignments across every setup correctly.
We use precision alignment equipment and always check tyre condition and suspension integrity before setting alignment — because alignment won’t hold on worn components.
One of the most cost-effective services we offer relative to what it protects. Clear pricing upfront — and we’ll always tell you if a suspension issue needs addressing first.
Easy to reach in Southport with on-site parking. A standard wheel alignment takes around 45–60 minutes and is available same day in most cases.
A wheel alignment done properly makes an immediately noticeable difference to how a vehicle drives — and our customers consistently tell us theirs felt better from the moment they left our Southport workshop. Read what drivers say about their wheel alignment experience at Action Tyres & More.

Alignment issues develop gradually — often too slowly for drivers to notice until the tyre wear makes it undeniable. These are the signs to watch for.
The vehicle pulling consistently to the left or right when you release the steering wheel on a flat road. The steering wheel sitting off-centre when driving straight. Uneven tyre wear — heavier wear on the inner or outer edge than the centre. Steering wheel vibration at speed, though this can also indicate a balancing issue worth checking at the same time. The vehicle feeling less planted or precise in corners than it used to, or requiring more input to maintain a straight line on the highway.
Any of these symptoms are worth addressing before they cost you a set of tyres.
A wheel alignment on a vehicle with worn suspension components won’t hold — the worn parts allow the geometry to shift back quickly. And alignment on tyres that have already worn unevenly won’t fix the wear pattern already present. At Action Tyres & More, we look at the whole picture — tyres, suspension, and alignment together — to make sure the service actually delivers the result it should.

A standard four-wheel alignment typically takes around 45–60 minutes at our Southport workshop. If the alignment reveals suspension components that need attention before a correct alignment can be set, we’ll advise you before proceeding. For most standard passenger cars and SUVs it’s a quick, same-day service.
Yes — and it’s one of the most direct relationships in vehicle maintenance. A vehicle running even modest misalignment consistently scrubs rubber from the tyre edge with every rotation. Over 20,000km the difference in wear between a correctly aligned and misaligned vehicle can be the equivalent of one full tyre — or more in pronounced cases. The alignment costs far less than the tyres it protects.
Yes — we recommend it every time. New tyres fitted to a misaligned vehicle start wearing incorrectly from the first kilometre. If the alignment is already correct, the check confirms it and costs little. If it’s out — which is common on vehicles that have covered significant kilometres — catching it at tyre fitting time saves the tyres from the wear the misalignment would otherwise cause.
Alignment adjusts the angles at which your tyres meet the road — affecting steering, handling, and even tyre wear. Balancing addresses the weight distribution of the tyre and wheel assembly — affecting vibration at speed and a specific type of wear pattern. Both affect ride quality and tyre life, both are recommended at tyre fitment, and both are commonly needed at the same time. We’ll assess both and recommend accordingly.
Correcting the alignment prevents further uneven wear from developing — but it can’t reverse wear that’s already present. If one edge is already worn significantly lower than the other, that wear pattern remains even after the alignment is corrected. Depending on severity, the affected tyre may need replacement regardless. We’ll assess tyre condition alongside the alignment and give you an honest picture of what’s already worn and what the correction will achieve going forward.
We recommend an alignment check every 10,000–15,000km as a routine maintenance item — regardless of whether symptoms have appeared. On Gold Coast roads with their speed bumps, roundabouts, and occasional rough patches, alignment drifts gradually under normal driving. Staying on top of it costs very little and prevents the tyre wear that a neglected alignment causes over the same distance.
