Pirelli has launched the groundbreaking Cinturato P1, the high-tech green tyre for small- and medium-sized prestige cars which lowers fuel consumption, provides superior performance on every surface and is environmentally friendly.
Launched in March in Puglia, Italy, the tyre impressed the European media who put it to the test on the region's winding roads through villages and olive trees along the Adriatic coast.
The Cinturato P1 was designed according to the state-of-the-art standards of the acclaimed Cinturato P7, winner of major tests carried out by European certification bodies and the most influential motoring magazines.
Developed at Pirelli's Research and Development Centre in Milan, where its Formula 1 tyres are also devised,
Cinturato P1 is focused on delivering safety, driving pleasure, energy efficiency, low environmental impact and versatility.
It boasts fuel savings and noise reduction, thanks to its substantially lower weight, reduced rolling resistance of up to 25% and the choice of innovative technological solutions.
The new addition to the Cinturato Family reinforces Pirelli's Green Performance offering, with green products growing to over 36 per cent of global sales in 2010.
The tyre will be available in Australia in mid November 2011 in 195/55R16 87V run-flat (IPCode 1961900). In 2012 therange will expand to include more 16-inch and 17-inch options.
